Our Initiative

The museum was established in 2004 to celebrate the life, work, struggle, and philosophies of one of the greatest 20th-century leaders. It seeks to document and preserve the collective memory of the Zimbabwean liberation struggle. This initiative is part of a combined private and public sector effort to ensure that Zimbabweans capture and remember their history—particularly the aspects that inspire, motivate, and educate future generations.

Warm Kids

In 2004, the Joshua Nkomo National Foundation distributed 600 blankets to children’s hospitals across ten provinces.

Sponsorships and partnerships to support learners

The Joshua Nkomo National Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Bulawayo Provincial History and Heritage Panel of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Bulawayo Province). Through this partnership, the Foundation sponsors and supports the A-Level Presentation and Quiz, the O-Level Quiz, and the Junior Quiz with funding and prizes.
